ELEANOR (she/her) Reformer, Mat, Barre

Eleanor van Veen is a movement instructor, contemporary-based dance artist, coffee-enthusiast, and music-lover in Toronto. Growing up on Cape Breton Island, she received classical training in many styles of dance. Her relationship to movement runs deep, and informs her ever-evolving teaching practice.
Movement has brought her immense awareness, joy, patience, and presence. Her class flows are gentle, enjoyable, and/or challenging, with movement that mobilizes, stabilizes, strengthens, and just feels good. Her practice is accessible and trauma informed. She has worked with many people ranging from the ages of 5 to 75. Through her personal experience with chronic pain and injuries as a professional dancer, Eleanor whole-heartedly understands the importance of tuning in and safely guiding people through movement.
Eleanor completed her Mat and Reformer Pilates certification at Mindful Movement Centre with Leslie Parker. She continues her education as a student to life, and the lessons that emerge from teaching groups and privates.
Beyond Pilates, Eleanor lives a full life as a professional dancer, choreographer, and contemporary dance instructor to both young and advanced movers. To connect further with her and her various endeavours, find her on IG @eleanorvanveen

What can you expect in one of Eleanor’s classes? Movers can expect accessible, gentle, enjoyable, and challenging layered flows. There are opportunities to tune in, ground down, and feel deeply, as well as opportunities to connect, dance, and get spicy - all to the sound of soft, groovy tunes.

Specialities: I've worked with private clients post hip + knee replacement, prenatal, and post prolapse. I wouldn't say I'm yet specialized in these areas, but I'm comfortable supporting these folks.
